Do you know what kind of a stain it is?
How long has your sister had Licorice? Maybe your Dad could call AG and they could help?
Does your other sister have a wire wig brush for Kaya? She could mist her hair with water from a spray bottle, and starting at the very ends and working up, carefully brush all of the tangles out. It would be a big job with a Kaya, so maybe someone can help her.
Your Dad is probably trying to help you protect Samantha if he limits where you take her.
I feel sorry for your friend... just look at all of the dolly fun she is missing out on! I am 29 years old and still playing with my dolls.
Just have fun with your dolls and do not worry what anyone else thinks.

I HATE friends like that!!!!!! Tell your friend that bugging you about bring Samantha to a lot of places doesn't mean you'll stop. Then ignore her and don't make any reaction when/if she bugs you after that. Hopefully she'll stop.
*runs over to your sister's Kaya with a brush and starts brushing* my friend's little sister has Kaya and Kirsten and their hair is always SO tangled. I always brush their hair when I go over to her house and I briad it for her.
My trick is that I grab a small peice of hair (like 1 inch) and brush that. When it is nice I go on and do another strand and another and so on and so forth and after each strand I brush the strand into the rest of the hair. Then I braid it and insist *insert doll's owner* doesn't take them out for a while and takes better care of the dolls' hair.

My mom helped me wash my doll. She put her in the washing machine with her head off. She was really super clean then. Maybe that can help you too.

For Samantha's stain, you could probably untie her back string, take her stuffing out, and ask your mom or dad to help wash her.
Also, your friend needs to know that it's not okay to treat ANYONE like that, older or younger, doll or no doll. When she starts up, tell her firmly, "I don't appreciate being treated like that," and don't give in to whatever she's doing. If you don't let her treat you like a baby, she won't. What's she doing, specifically?

Hi! About your sister's kaya-doll's hair, I don't know if this will help, but if the doll is not too incredibly old, you can send her to American Girl, and they will replace the doll for free. They just ask you if you have put anything in her hair, and if you have used the AG brush. Then when you get the new doll, you just send the old doll back to ag in the new box. This is what I did when my little Taylor's hair kept getting matted up. I hope this helps.

You and your mom can wash the body without taking the stuffing out, if you want. You can check my "Restoration" photo album for pictures on how to do that, if you're interested.
